Macroecology of the Anthropocene
Trends and patterns of major human-life interactions
This project aims to identify major trends in the way humans interact with other life forms in the Anthropocene. While macroecology has generally been devoted to free-living organisms in rather pristine habitats, humans today control the life and death of a major part of the Earth's biomass. To fully understand the major trends in life on Earth in the Anthropocene, we therefore need to consider wild as well as various domesticated life forms and habitats under one.
The project is in a development phase with the aim to secure funding for a research synthesis workshop.
